The Neurobiology and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory currently operates along two primary research lines. The Neurobiology division focuses on the pathology and therapeutic approaches related to Huntington’s disease, aiming to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of neurodegeneration and explore potential treatment strategies. The Molecular Diagnostics division is dedicated to the development and optimization of immunoassays for the detection of serum antibodies. Additionally, the lab is involved in field-based pathogen detection, identifying food- and water-borne pathogens in remote or resource-limited settings, contributing to public health and outbreak surveillance.
The lab maintains strong academic and research proficiency, integrating advanced molecular and cellular techniques with translational research. Our interdisciplinary approach supports high-impact scientific inquiry and fosters collaborative opportunities in both basic and applied biomedical research.
